About Me
Professional Interests
I am currently studying at McGill University, in the Master of Library and Information Studies program. My primary interests are in special librarianship, particularly in regards to art or health sciences libraries. I also enjoy web design and the IT aspects of librarianship. Previously, I have completed a Bachelor of Arts (Combined Honors) in anthropology and art history at the University of Alberta. I specialized in palaeopathology and Canadian art (and yes, I'm aware that those two don't exactly go together!).
This website is intended to provide an online presentation of my educational and professional background, as well as highlighting some of my completed projects. Please feel free to browse the site, and contact me if you have any questions.
A Note on the Blog
The blog will be mainly for library related topics. I've been keeping a LiveJournal for a few years now, but that is more for personal entertainment than professional contribution. However, I suspect I might stray into some museum/art history/anthropology posts. Librarianship is good and all, but its hard to completely switch gears out of one’s undergrad. Especially if you loved your undergrad classes as much as I did!
Personal Interests
One of my major interests is horseback riding. I began riding over 15 years ago, and compete in English events including stadium jumping, hunter jumping, dressage, equitation, pleasure, and saddle seat. I also compete in Western events including equitation, pleasure, trail, barrel racing, pole bending, and reining. Admittedly I've not been doing many competitions lately, as I seem to spend all my money on school... (funny how that happens). Someday I'd love to learn how to ride side saddle (as I tried it once and was surprisingly bad at it!), or do mounted archery.

I also enjoy oil painting, photography, scrapbooking, singing, and reading.
